ANDY GONZALEZ
producer, featured bass & percussion

is widely recognized as one of the world's preeminent latin jazz bassists and scholars. His work with his brother Jerry in the Fort Apache Band is considered by many to be the new standard for the genre. He has held the bass chair with greats Dizzy Gillespie, Tito Puente, Eddie Palmieri, Ray Barretto, McCoy Tyner, Don Grolnik and countless others. Andy is musical director of the internationally renown group 'Manny Oquendo y Cojunto Libre' and has produced and contributed to countless recordings and commercials. Recently, Andy appeared in the widely distributed feature film 'Calle 54' in which he performed with several of the featured ensembles. Andy is considered one of the foremost authorities on the subject of the evolution of latin music. He frequently is asked to contribute liner notes to a vast array of publications and recordings.
